Understanding User Roles and Permissions

This is a comprehensive list of all the roles available in PEARS.  Some are for SNAP-Ed and others are for Extension, therefore, your organization may not have all roles filled.  They align with the roles listed in the User Directory, making this a good guide if you are looking for a user who has a particular permission.
  • Organizational Administrator
    • Manage Users
      • Add new users
      • Deactivate users
      • Adjust user information (email, name, default unit/program area, etc.)
      • Generate “Welcome Email”
      • Manage user permissions (viewable unit permissions, viewable program area permissions)
    • Manage Sites
      • Add sites
      • Mark sites as inactive
      • Edit site information
      • Merge sites
    • Manage Unit Directors
      • Add new unit director
      • Remove unit director
    • Manage Program Area Team Members
      • Add new program area team leader
      • Remove program area team leader
    • Manage Board Members
      • Add new board member
      • Edit board member information
      • Remove board member
    • Review (approve/reject/edit) professional development event proposals
    • Review (approve/reject) “State/PFT” level action plans

    • Manage Users
      • Add new users

    • Review professional development plans of users in specified unit (and sub-units)
    • Grant users viewable unit permissions to specified unit
    • Review performance reviews of users in specified unit (and sub-units)
    • Enter “Unit” level action plans
 
  • Board Member Manager
    • Manage Board Members
      • Add new board member
      • Edit board member information
      • Remove board member
 
  • Professional Development Opportunity Reviewer
    • Review (approve/reject/edit) professional development event proposals
 
  • PFT Action Plan Reviewer
    • Review (approve/reject) “State/PFT” level action plans
 
  • PEARS Team Point of Contact
    • No Permissions in PEARS
    • Optionally used to note primary PoC for Organization
 
  • SNAP-Ed PEARS Advisory Committee Representative
    • No Permissions in PEARS
    • Optionally used to track which users in Organization are on PAC
 
  • Extension PEARS Advisory Committee Representative
    • No Permissions in PEARS
    • Optionally used to track which users in Organization are on PAC-E
